The Fox and the LionProclaimed in her a careless hand of pride;A FOX swimming across a rapid river was carried by the force of the current into a very deep ravine, where he lay for a long time very much bruised, sick, and unable to move. A swarm of hungry blood-sucking flies settled upon him. A Hedgehog, passing by, saw his anguish and inquired if he should drive away the flies that were tormenting him. "By no means," replied the Fox; "pray do not molest them." "How is this?' said the Hedgehog; "do you not want to be rid of them?' "No," returned the Fox, "for these flies which you see are full of blood, and sting me but little, and if you rid me of these which are already satiated, others more hungry will come in their place, and will drink up all the blood I have left."

Kairosoft has been a fixture of mobile gaming for many years now. Influential, fun, and accessible, many of its best games have more than stood the test of time – a rare feat in such a constantly-evolving medium. The studio has now announced a sale for some of its most popular games, and so we figured we’d give you a quick heads up before it goes live on August 24th.

If the name Kairosoft doesn’t ring a bell, perhaps you’ve heard of Game Dev Story or Dream Town Story? The former in particular was a huge hit, eventually making its way to Nintendo Switch back in 2017. They’re enjoyable management games that typically focus on a specific industry; for example, game development or film production.

While I haven’t played them all – there are a lot of ‘em – I can absolutely say the ones I’ve tried have been really good fun. You can see their influence in many mobile games now, though I think you could argue that Kairosoft’s best games are yet to be topped by any imitators.

The first of the three games on sale is Pocket Harvest, which will get a whopping 80% discount. This one’s all about managing a farm, cultivating your crops, and making a living off the land. Obvious comparisons can be drawn between it and Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, though it still serves up its own special experience.

You’ll also be able to get Pool Slide Story at a 40% discount. Here, you’ll build up and customise your very own water park, fit with attractions and rides. This is one that I haven’t actually played, though it must be said the user reviews for it are very positive.

Finally, we have The Sushi Spinnery at 40% off. As the name suggests, this one sees you managing a sushi restaurant, building up a great menu, and adding weird and wonderful features like a salad bar and a sumo ring.

If you’d like to keep up to date on all the latest Kairosoft news, you can follow the studio over on Twitter or make a quick trip to its official site.

The discounts are only available for the iOS versions. Here are the links for Pool Slide Story, Pocket Harvest, and The Sushi Spinnery.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.

Iconic metal band Korn has launched a special collaboration with World of Tanks Blitz.

The team-up includes a reveal for the band’s new music video ‘Finally Free’, a track featured on Korn’s latest studio album, The Nothing. This sets the stage for the brand new Halloween themed game mode coming to World of Tanks Blitz: Burning Games.

Available to all Tier V and above vehicles, Burning Games has you fight for dominance on the battlefield in order to secure in-game rewards. The Halloween-esque twist is that from the moment the battle clock starts, every vehicle on the battlefield starts draining health like a vampire, and you need to deal damage to enemies in order to stay in the fight.

Alongside this, a five stage event called Convergence is also available to access in-game, in which all players can complete in-game challenges to uncover pieces of Korn artwork and extra special items. Convergence and the Burning Games mode runs from the 16th to 24th October, so that’s plenty of time to check out the new content.

I don't know about you, but if anybody points a stylish, low-fi puzzle game at me I'm right on board. The Machine's Garden is precisely that, and as part of Pocket Gamer LaunchPad we're pleased to be able to exclusively reveal its release date.

Set in the deep future, The Machine's Garden has players help an AI understand what came to pass in the events leading up to it being reactivated. As you can probably tell from the aesthetic, - a strong retro-futuristic look - it's highly likely that the idiotic humans who lived on the planet brought themselves to the brink of extinction in a ridiculous cold-war situation, although who knows? You'll have to play the game to find out - and why wouldn't you want to play a low-fi, low-rez style game that looks like this?
They sought their shame that so their shame did find;
1. GOD MODE
2. DUMB ENEMY
3. NO ADS
